Jack's Thoughts On Drugs These Days

Jack's Thoughts On Drugs These Days

"...These days the hard drugs are gone, but he continues – against the Hollywood grain – to smoke cannabis. ‘I don’t tend to say this publicly, but we can see it’s a curative thing. The narcotics industry is also enormous. It funds terrorism and – this is a huge problem in America – fuels the foreign gangs. More than 85 per cent of men incarcerated in America are on drug-related offences. It costs $40,000 a year for every prisoner. If they were really serious about the economy there would be a sensible discussion about legalisation..."

Cannabis cultivation in prison

Cannabis cultivation in prison

We all know cannabis is everywhere, including places like prisons. Never been there, don't get me wrong, but as far as I know it's not very hard to get in a prison. But I never knew it even happens that they grow cannabis inside a prison. Uhmm, OK! But how?

Chuck Norris buds

Chuck Norris buds

In possession of some Chuck Norris buds maybe? Well, watch over your shoulder, because Chuck isn't pleased with this new Chuck Norris cannabis strain. And we all know you do not want to piss off Chuck. Besides, Chuck Norris doesn't get high... he makes everyone else low. (OK, stole that one from TMZ).

It's different in Thailand, you know

It's different in Thailand, you know

Getting caught in Thailand with 3 grams of cannabis in your pocket and a joint between your lips is not funny. Really, not funny at all. But some stoners just don't care. Let's see if the guy has the same grin on his face when he's thrown into a Thai prison for 5 years or more... Unbelievable.

EU Court backs tourist ban for Dutch coffeeshops

EU Court backs tourist ban for Dutch coffeeshops

*BAD NEWS*
The new Dutch government wants to make coffeeshops for Dutch people only by introducing so-called 'weed passes'. They work with these passes already for a while in a few cities in the south of the Netherlands, but now the government wants to extend this system nationwide and they're going at it at full speed. This means that Amsterdam will lose one of its biggest tourist attractions: the coffeeshop. A coffeeshop owner from Maastricht went to European Court, arguing that this policy breached EU laws on free movement of goods and services. Today the European court decided the Dutch government deals within its rights to introduce those passes. That's a green light for the Dutch government and a black day for all of us. Here the opinion from the mayor of Amsterdam who actually does understand how it works.

P.S. If you want to make some money at the Black Market in the future, you need to be real quick. I just heard that all Dutch streetdealers are fighting already for the good spots in Amsterdam... [/wink]

Cannabis usage among young people in the US is rising

Cannabis usage among young people in the US is rising

White House drug czar Kerlikowske blames the medical marijuana laws. "If young people don't really perceive that [marijuana] is dangerous or of any concern, it usually means there'll be an uptick in the number of kids who are using. And sure enough, in 2009, that's exactly what we did see..." Blabla. NORML has a different point of view of course.

How a hippie spends Christmas

Decorating a Cannabis plant in stead of a Christmas tree? Of course, how cliché. Come on, let the dude...

Portugal's experience with drug decriminalization

Portugal's experience with drug decriminalization

Propose to make cannabis legal and prohibitionists will response most likely with their standard answers: Medical-care, traffic and other accident costs will rise and of course there will be a reduced worker productivity and lower educational achievements. Bullshit of course. The Netherlands is proving that already for 30 years. Now Portugal is proving it also. They decriminalized drug possession in 2001 and look what happened. Oh really? What a surprise...

Quote of the Day

"I don't want to fucking give the United States government one fucking dollar of taxes. I think that they should go to fucking jail for getting you and me and 20 million people getting arrested for pot. It is the safest thing you can do in the universe."
